Returns, Right of Withdrawal, and Right of Regret

We strive to ensure your satisfaction with our seasonings, herbs, and spice blends. We offer a voluntary 5-day return policy for eligible items: you have 5 days after receiving your order to request a return or exchange, subject to the conditions and exceptions below.

Return and cancellation rights vary by your location due to local consumer protection laws.

For customers in the European Union (including Portugal): You benefit from the mandatory EU right of withdrawal (14-day cooling-off period) under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). You may cancel your order within 14 calendar days without giving any reason. The period starts the day after you (or a third party you designate, not the carrier) receive the goods (or the last item in a multi-part delivery).

For customers in Brazil: Under Article 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code (Código de Defesa do Consumidor), you have the right of regret (direito de arrependimento): you may withdraw from the purchase within 7 calendar days from the date of receipt of the product, without justification. In such cases, we will provide a full refund of all amounts paid, including delivery costs, and you will not bear return shipping costs (we cover them or arrange accordingly).

For customers in other non-EU countries (e.g., outside EU and Brazil): No mandatory withdrawal or regret period applies under local law in most cases. Returns are handled under our voluntary 5-day policy only.

Conditions for returns, withdrawal, or regret (applicable where eligible):

  • The item must be in substantially the same condition as received: unused, with all original labels/tags (if any), in undamaged original packaging, and resalable.
  • Proof of purchase (order confirmation, invoice, or receipt) is required.
  • To start the process, contact us first at shop@saligreen.com with your order number. Provide details (and photos if relevant, e.g., for defects). We will reply with instructions, including a return shipping label where we cover return costs (EU/Brazil mandatory cases or our voluntary policy when offered).
  • Do not ship items back without contacting us first—unsolicited returns may not be processed.
  • You generally bear the direct cost of returning goods unless: (i) required by law (e.g., Brazil right of regret or EU if we failed to inform you), (ii) the return is due to our error (wrong/damaged item), or (iii) we explicitly offer free returns.

Damages, defects, or incorrect items (applies worldwide): Inspect your order upon receipt. If an item is damaged, defective, incorrect, or does not conform to the order, contact us immediately at shop@saligreen.com (ideally within a few days, with photos). We will assess and, where justified, provide a replacement, repair, or full refund (including shipping) in accordance with applicable legal guarantees of conformity (e.g., EU 2-year legal guarantee; Brazilian statutory warranty periods).

Exceptions — Non-returnable / non-withdrawable items (applies to all policies): Certain items are non-returnable under law or our policy, including:

  • Sealed goods for health protection or hygiene reasons once the seal is broken/unsealed (common for our packaged seasonings, herbs, and spice blends—e.g., opened jars, bags, or sealed packets).
  • Goods that deteriorate or expire rapidly (if any perishable items are offered).
  • Custom or personalised products (e.g., bespoke blends).
  • Hazardous materials or other restricted items (not applicable here).
  • Sale/discounted items (unless defective).
  • Gift cards or digital content.

If an item falls under these exceptions, it cannot be returned under withdrawal, regret, or our voluntary policy unless defective/non-conforming.

Exchanges For eligible items, the fastest option is to return the original (processed first) and place a new order. We handle exchanges case-by-case, especially for defects.

Refunds

  • Approved returns/withdrawals/regrets receive a full refund of the purchase price (plus standard delivery costs where required by law, e.g., EU withdrawal or Brazil regret; express shipping not refunded unless our fault).
  • Refunds go to the original payment method.
  • We process refunds:
    • Within 14 calendar days for EU withdrawal (from notice if you return later, or from receipt of goods/proof of shipment).
    • Promptly (and fully, including shipping) for Brazil regret.
    • Within reasonable time (typically 10 business days) for voluntary returns.
  • Bank/credit card processing may add extra time.
  • If 15+ business days pass after approval without the refund appearing, contact us at shop@saligreen.com.
