Returns, Right of Withdrawal, and Right of Regret
All our products (seasonings, herbs, and spice blends) are final sale. As sealed food and perishable goods, they are generally non-returnable once the seal is broken or the package has been opened. However, your statutory rights under applicable law always apply, as detailed below.
Return and cancellation rights vary by your location due to local consumer protection laws.
For customers in the European Union (including Portugal): You benefit from the mandatory EU right of withdrawal (14-day cooling-off period) under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU). You may cancel your order within 14 calendar days without giving any reason. The period starts the day after you (or a third party you designate, not the carrier) receive the goods (or the last item in a multi-part delivery).
Important exception: The right of withdrawal does not apply to sealed goods for health protection or hygiene reasons once the seal has been broken after delivery. Since all our products are sealed food items, the right of withdrawal is lost once the packaging is opened.
For customers in Brazil: Under Article 49 of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code (Código de Defesa do Consumidor), you have the right of regret (direito de arrependimento): you may withdraw from the purchase within 7 calendar days from the date of receipt of the product, without justification, provided the product remains unopened and in its original sealed condition. In such cases, we will provide a full refund of the purchase price. Please note that shipping costs and import taxes (such as customs duties and fees) are non-refundable and will be deducted from the refund or borne by the customer. Return shipping costs are also the responsibility of the customer.
For customers in other non-EU countries (e.g., outside EU and Brazil): No mandatory withdrawal or regret period applies under local law in most cases. All sales are final.
Conditions for returns, withdrawal, or regret (applicable where eligible):
- The item must be unopened, sealed, unused, with all original labels/tags, in undamaged original packaging.
- Proof of purchase (order confirmation, invoice, or receipt) is required.
- To start the process, contact us first at shop@saligreen.com with your order number. Provide details (and photos if relevant). We will reply with instructions.
- Do not ship items back without contacting us first — unsolicited returns may not be processed.
- You generally bear the direct cost of returning goods unless required by law (e.g., Brazil right of regret or EU if we failed to inform you), or the return is due to our error (wrong/damaged item).
Damages, defects, or incorrect items (applies worldwide): Inspect your order upon receipt. If an item is damaged, defective, incorrect, or does not conform to the order, contact us immediately at shop@saligreen.com (ideally within a few days, with photos). We will assess and, where justified, provide a replacement, repair, or full refund (including shipping) in accordance with applicable legal guarantees of conformity (e.g., EU 2-year legal guarantee; Brazilian statutory warranty periods).
Non-returnable items: All our products are non-returnable by default, as they are sealed food/perishable goods. Specifically, the following cannot be returned under any voluntary policy:
- Sealed goods for health protection or hygiene reasons once the seal is broken or packaging opened.
- Goods that deteriorate or expire rapidly.
- Custom or personalised products (e.g., bespoke blends).
- Sale or discounted items (unless defective).
- Gift cards or digital content.
Refunds:
- Approved returns under statutory rights (EU withdrawal or Brazil regret, where applicable) receive a full refund of the purchase price plus standard delivery costs.
- Refunds for defective/non-conforming items are processed regardless of the final sale status.
- Refunds go to the original payment method.
- We process refunds within 14 calendar days for EU withdrawal, promptly for Brazil regret, and within 10 business days for other approved cases.
- Bank or credit card processing may add extra time. If 15+ business days pass after approval without the refund appearing, contact us at shop@saligreen.com.
